At an early age attracted by the lure of the woods, Brian became an avid hunter an outdoorsman. This soon led to curiosity for learning about primitive cultures and skills. The first self taught skill he mastered was the art of flint knapping, which further led to the study and use of the atlatl, precursor to the bow and arrow. He now competes on the world level and is one of few who has scored a 90 or above in competition.
Always looking to expand his knowledge, he has attended several schools and classes ranging from primitive fire to tracking to modern survival. His mentors have been James Bruchac "Ndakinna Wilderness School", Michael Head "Wilderness Way School", Dr. James Halfpenny "A Naturalist's World", Michael Douglas "Maine Primitive Skill School", David Canterbury "Pathfinder School" where he worked for 6 years as a Master instructor. He was a key part of the schools curriculum. Most recently he trained with the Grandfather of Bushcraft Mors Kochanski "Karamat Wilderness Ways". Always striving to better himself and give back to the outdoor community he studied further and became a Licensed Guide in the State of New York. He went further a became a Maine Registered Guide by passing the hardest guide test in the U.S. His vision and thoughts are not only take people out to enjoy the outdoors but to teach them the practical outdoor skills to make them more self reliant in this age of technology.
